FAQ

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions. Please read through and if you are wondering about anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out!

HOW DO I BOOK YOU FOR MY WEDDING?

The first step is to get in touch with us. I’ll then try and meet you both in person or on Skype to hear more about you, your story, your plans and how you want the story of your wedding day told.

You’ll get a feel for whether we are the right studio, the ideal personality and the best photographers & videographers for your specific needs and vision.

After that booking is done online and is so very simple!

WHAT PACKAGES DO YOU PROVIDE?

We keep it really simple with a couple of coverage options starting at 6 hrs minimum, to which you can add options dependent on your needs.  Our standard package includes access to all the edited, high res files (with associated print rights. We also make ourselves available to you for pre-wedding Phone & or Skype calls as required.

HOW DO YOU CHARGE FOR DESTINATION WEDDINGS?

Firstly, we love to travel for weddings, so don't hesitate to contact us if you are planning a destination wedding. We charge based on your specific requirements, every wedding is different, and there are obviously extra costs such as travel and accommodation that must be covered by you. That being said, we are open to exploring options for certain locations, so don't be shy.

WHAT ARE YOUR BASIC PAYMENT TERMS?

In addition to a signed contract, we require $500.00 of the total agreed fee as a non-refundable retainer to secure us for your wedding date.

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE GET AND WHEN?

Our average delivery time for the full gallery of images is currently around 7-10 weeks. We also do our best to deliver a few teaser images within 1-2 weeks. Every wedding is different so we can never commit to a number, but I tell clients when we meet that I usually deliver between 400-700 images for a 10hr + wedding day. Most of my weddings are 12hr days so I often deliver over this amount. Additional cost for RAW files.

ARE THE IMAGES YOU DELIVER TO US EDITED?

Absolutely, we would never deliver any RAW or un-edited files to a client. After I have selected the final images for delivery (400-700 files), we then edit each file individually before converting to a full resolution jpeg file. We give you the full set of beautifully color corrected files free of watermark that come with a print rights release form. which you will receive via electronic download from your private web gallery.

None of the images are watermarked and we are cool with you sharing online as long as you credit us!

DO WE PROVIDE YOU WITH A SHOT LIST FOR THE DAY?

A family photo list is a must, it helps us ensure we get the family shots you need & want. A shot list of moments (staged or otherwise) is not. Weddings are crazy, fluid, dynamic things and working off one of those shot lists created by wedding blogs is a non-starter for me. We are not there to manufacture moments, re-create images of other photographers from Pinterest or to commit to achieving every expected shot. We are there to document your story as it unfolds.

WOULD IT BE JUST oNE SHOOTER FOR OUR WEDDING?

Unless you purchase a 2nd photographer/videographer option, yes. We are used to shooting alone but do regularly work with a selection of very talented 2nd photographers as required. The larger the number of guests the more reason to have a 2nd photographer and or videographer. There are other advantages to having 2 of us shooting your big day. We will walk you through these if/when we meet.

All 2nd photographers/videographers we work with are fellow professionals with their own flourishing businesses. No juniors or assistants are ever asked to 2nd shoot.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL INVESTMENT YOUR CLIENTS MAKE?

It ultimately depends on the wedding and your requirements but the average investment for weddings is between $3-6k.

WHATS YOUR BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR US?

We say this in other places on this site because I think it's so important and sometimes overlooked - hire a photographer/videographer whose work you love but also make sure they are someone you'd be happy to hang out with on your big day. You can only figure that out if you meet and talk at length with your shooter before you book. Get to know them, ask lots of questions and if you get to the point where it feels like you're hiring a friend to shoot your wedding, and not just another vendor, then you're in a good place.

Can you meet on the weekends?

We are always out shooting events on the weekends! While the answer is no, we do however stay late in the weekdays to accommodate your work schedules! We understand that everyone in Toronto is busy!

Is travel included and what about traveling from the ceremony to the reception?

If everything is within a 40km radius of Downtown, then you’re covered! After that it’s a $0.50 per mile. Pretty easy! Travel across country or internationally is billed separately.

Do you offer discounts for off season or non weekend weddings?

We would be happy to chatting more in depth with you about off season or mid-day pricing, give us a call!

How far in advance do I need to book with you?

We always encourage meeting with your photographer and or videographer of choice as soon as you can - we're often booked up 6 months to a year in advance!

Does is matter if we haven't shot at my venue?

Absolutely not. We pride ourselves on the ability to immediately see spots that are great for photos, that's what makes us photojournalists. We can walk into a room and quickly asses it for the ideal place and lighting for the photos and reacting quickly on our feet. Each venue also looks completely different from event to event based on the design and set up, time of year, weather and even time of day so it will look unique to your day no matter what!

What happens if my photographer is sick?

We shoot through sickness, tornadoes, hurricanes, the list goes on. We'd have to be tied down in a hospital to not shoot-in that case (which has never happened!) we would send someone else through the studio that way you can be sure you always have a photographer and or videographer! Another huge advantage to booking with a studio collective of shooters.

What do you wear to a wedding?

Another big important aspect of the studio is we always come dressed in nice, black attire so we blend in. You've hired professionals and we dress as such.
